This is my first ever guest blog post! I’m delighted to introduce you to my guest, Claire from Lefkas weddings. We met back in 2017, Claire was looking for a wedding Celebrant for a beach ceremony. As the bride was Greek American, Claire was putting feelers out for Greek-speaking Celebrants and I was very impressed to receive an email enquiry from her in Greek! Since that first experience of working together I always get fist pumpingly excited whenever I see a request from her in my inbox because I LOVE going to Lefkas. Claire has put together 5 excellent reasons to get married in Lefkas!
But don’t just take my word for it – here are Claire’s top reasons for a wedding in Lefkas in her words:
I feel the Ionian is one of the most magical areas of Greece. It’s inspired legends and love stories and it’s the perfect place to say, ‘I do’. Lefkas Weddings is principally based in Lefkas (or Lefkada) island and here are my top five reasons why it makes a great location for your destination wedding in Greece.

Jason and Victoria’s wedding ceremony at Philosophia on the island of Rhodes was just ‘all the feels’! I keep drifting off into a reverie of blissful memories thinking back on it!
They met at University on the same course and both secretly fancied each other. But things got in the way, like Vic being nerdy and sitting at the front of the class while Jason sat at the back being all broody and mysterious. But they both signed up to volunteer at a music festival in Brighton and Victoria put a shout out for people to share accommodation. Jason stopped being mysterious long enough to sign up and that was that.
Philosophia is a beachside restaurant in Pefkos on the island of Rhodes. But it’s soooo much more than just a restaurant. For one, it’s an amazing wedding location and I am delighted to be their recommended wedding celebrant. When I get to a wedding ceremony at Philosophia, my heart sings! What do I love about it? Here’s 10 things for starters…
THAT view
If you have imagined a vast expanse of blue sea and sky as a backdrop for your wedding ceremony and dinner in Greece, Philosophia is going to delight you! In ancient Greece, water was an important element when swearing an oath, As with any of the elements, it’s inclusion made the promises more binding. So it’s highly appropriate to be so near to such a massive body of water when making one of the most enduring promises you will ever make, am I wrong?!
When couples ask me ‘what are the Greek wedding crowns’ – in fact when they ask me that question about any unity ritual – I always want to reply; ‘what do you want it to be?’ Because honestly, it can be anything you want it to be!

I have to be honest with you here, I didn’t exactly meet Irene at a wedding. I met her at a conference for wedding professionals here in Greece. But you know when you meet someone and you just KNOW that they are fabulous at their jobs? Apart from being a super cool and lovely person, through our discussions about makeup, past experiences and service ethics, it was blindingly obvious that irene is exceptional at what she does – a bridal makeup artist in Greece. And she definitely falls in the category of ‘wedding people I love’!
